Rich & Tom's 10 Year Maui Vow Renewal at Po'olenalena Beach

We are so excited to share Rich and Tom's Maui vow renewal at Po'olenalena Beach! This adorable couple had a civil union 10 years ago. Last week on one of Maui's most beautiful beaches they renewed their vows and signed a marriage license! Their Hawaiian ceremony was performed by Charles Nahale and it included the exchange of traditional leis. We also loved listening to the beautiful Hawaiian conch shell, blown at the beginning and end of the ceremony and a song performed on the ukelele. Rich and Tom also decided to incorporate the Hawaiian Hand Washing tradition into their ceremony. The hand washing tradition is a purification ritual, symbolizing a clean slate so the couple can enter their marriage with a mutual understanding of the forgiveness that will be required to keep their relationship healthy and happy. After their ceremony, we took their couples portraits on the beach and popped open a bottle of champagne! Thank you so much Rich and Tom for choosing us to be a part of your Maui Vow Renewal for your special day! We hope your time on Maui was magical!
